Are you searching for the perfect venue for your next incentive trip or President’s Club event? Consider the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, situated in Jalisco, Mexico.
We recently hosted a client’s President's Club event at this resort and were impressed by the exceptional service and quality of this luxury hotel.
The resort's unique location, set within a private reserve overlooking the Mexican Pacific, provides an intentionally secluded environment, allowing your event attendees to unwind in private luxury.
We interviewed Maria Soriano, Director of Style and Events at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, to discover the top 5 reasons why the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is the ideal venue for your next incentive trip.
Madison Shepherd: Could you tell us a bit more about the Four Seasons Tamarindo for those who are not familiar with the property? When was it opened and what was the inspiration behind its design?
Maria Soriano: Of course, the resort opened in 2022 and has been recognized by Architectural Digest as part of their Great Design Hotel Awards in 2023 and more recently by AFAR as a Best New Hotel in 2024.
Tamarindo is set within a 3,000-acre private nature reserve on a peninsula next to the Pacific Ocean. Our resort offers an undiscovered and exclusive getaway for groups, where the jungle, ocean, architecture, and authentic contemporary Mexico meet.
The property took over ten years to build and the team at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo takes pride in celebrating Mexican talent across all design disciplines, beginning with the partnership between architects Victor Legorreta and Mauricio Rocha, who formed the firm LegoRocha for this project. Along with LegoRocha, our lead designers envisioned a resort that blends seamlessly into the peninsula’s unique topography and creates a perfect balance between indoor comforts and the surrounding environment.
Madison Shepherd: The resort is beautiful. Is its location also advantageous for companies seeking a place to unwind while staying close to various activities? How close is the resort to the airport?
Maria Soriano: Yes, the Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is located on a pristine coastal nature reserve where only 2% will ever be developed. Our nature reserve spans 1,214 hectares (3,000 acres), and 10 kilometers (6 miles) of coastline, making it an incomparable setting for discovery and freedom.
It’s a 50-minute drive from Manzanillo International Costalegre Airport (ZLO). The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is a remotely close destination offering the perfect setting for your next group trip, with weekly direct flights in under 4 hours from Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, and Mexico City via commercial carriers.
Once at Tamarindo, guests are transported to a unique and remotely close destination where we invite them to feel connected to the jungle, the ocean, and to one another, immersing one in the wonders of the natural setting surrounding Tamarindo with experiences to discover the flora and fauna that envelops Tamarindo.
Madison Shepherd: What group sizes are best suited for this resort? Can you describe the event spaces and accommodations available for hosting incentive trips?
Maria Soriano: The Resort has 157 rooms, 63 of which are suites, spanning both cliffside, beachfront, and nature accommodations featuring a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor living with infinity pools and expansive Pacific Ocean views.
In addition to our unique cliffside and beachfront suites, we have three specialty suites including our 5-bedroom Tamarindo Villa, with an Olympics size wraparound pool, full kitchen, and expansive living space.
Our 3-bedroom Pacifico Suite cluster is perfect for families or large groups with direct walk-out beach access and stunning views, and lastly, our 2-bedroom connecting Oceano suite with panoramic water views. Guests can expect to wake up to the hums of birds in the reserve and panoramic ocean views.
We have more than 10,000 square feet of traditional event space, including five traditional meeting rooms in our La Mansión building, equipped with climate control and the technology you need for a successful business meeting.
We also have acres of nature for you and your team to explore - think brainstorming sessions on the beach or group yoga by the pool to start the day.
Madison Shepherd: What is the atmosphere like at the resort? What are the dining options and amenities offered to guests?
Maria Soriano: The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo offers a sophisticated escape with a laidback luxury feel including countless opportunities for groups to find adventure, settle into relaxation, or seek the perfect balance between both.
With three restaurants each offering unique culinary concepts including a partnership with Elena Reygadas at Coyul, The World’s Best Female Chef in 2023, diners will enjoy varying authentic Mexican cuisine using regional and locally grown ingredients.
Guests can enjoy our three cascading infinity pools, an 18-hole oceanfront golf course designed by renowned architect David Fleming, a serene spa with signature treatments, and countless experiences designed to help guests connect to the nature reserve around them.
Hidden coves and numerous swimmable beaches make for the perfect ocean escape with opportunities for watersports like paddle boarding, kayaking, and swimming.
Madison Shepherd: What makes this resort so great for hosting business groups? What kinds of activities are available for attendees to enjoy?
Maria Soriano: Nature stands front and center at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo – and our group activity offerings are as unique as our location, whether it is a fishing or golf tournament, group cooking class, beach Olympics, or sailing away in a private yacht, your group will experience Tamarindo´s natural utopia to its fullest.
Offering all kinds of adventures and activities, from ethnobotanical walks or birdwatching with our resident biologist to watersports, wine tastings, culinary experiences, and an 18-hole golf course.
