After breaking even the previous year, the client set a new goal for its annual roofing process conference: to increase revenue while delivering more value for sponsors and a stronger experience for attendees.

The client is a private investment firm that partners with small to mid-sized home service companies, including roofing and HVAC businesses, to help them scale and prepare for high-value exits. Their annual conference plays a key role in educating operators and building community.

Level-up #1: Turning sponsorships into experiences.
GoGather helped the client move beyond basic event logo placement and design sponsorships that attendees actually engaged with. The goal was to create more value for sponsors while creating moments that enhanced the conference experience.
Key upgrades included:
- Expanded high-visibility branding across entry doors and main conference spaces
- Sponsor-led activations such as charging stations, a photo booth, and VIP lounges
- A podcast recording station that gave sponsors a fresh way to connect with attendees and share their conference experience
- A sponsor-backed after-party that became one of the most popular moments of the conference
- Clear sponsorship tiers and new sellable assets, creating more ways to generate revenue without overwhelming attendees
The result: stronger sponsor engagement and a 112% year-over-year increase in sponsorship revenue.

Level-up #2: Raising production value without doubling the budget.
To improve the look and feel of the conference, GoGather partnered closely with our event production affiliate Clarity Experiences from early planning through on-site execution. Together, we focused on upgrades that would have the biggest impact from an attendee's point of view.
Production enhancements included:
- IMAG cameras to bring speakers closer to the audience and improve sightlines
- Dynamic lighting, haze, and lasers to create energy and movement during general sessions
- A more immersive stage setup that made sessions feel like a show, not a slide presentation
- Strategic use of logo gobos and visual branding throughout the venue
- Ongoing collaboration with the production team to refine details without inflating the budget
These focused improvements helped the conference feel bigger and more polished (while staying within the client’s overall event budget).

Level-up #3: Designing an attendee experience people could feel.
With additional sponsorship revenue in place, GoGather helped the client reinvest in the parts of the experience attendees care about most.
Attendee-focused improvements included:
- Moving a previously indoor dinner to the beach, more than doubling dinner attendance from last year
- Adding interactive elements throughout the agenda to keep energy high
- Upgrading swag across all attendee tiers, with premium gifts for VIP and Elite guests
- Introducing a late-added after-party that quickly became one of the most talked-about events
- Negotiating complimentary arrival-day transportation, saving attendees from long, expensive shuttle rides
Because the conference returned to the same property year over year, these changes were especially noticeable. Attendees knew what to expect and could clearly feel how the experience had improved.
